OBJECTIVE
Munster Police Department is very valuable to their community and often had much to share with their community, but the problem was they were unsure if communication to their stakeholders was effective in reaching who it needed to.
SOLUTION
As a student-run public relations firm, Region Communications Solutions conducted a full-scale, communication audit. This audit included conducting industry research, interviews, focus groups and surveys with both external and internal stakeholders.
RESULTS
At the conclusion of the audit, a 700-page book was compiled with all the research. Each of the sections included excerpts from the information as well as statistics associated with them. With the information, RCS was able to compile and analyze the research and the provided detailed implications based on the findings. This enabled the police department to become more aware of their strengths and weaknesses when communicating with their intended audiences.
After the book was published, myself and a small team presented the research at Butler’s Undergraduate Research Conference and received praise for the comprehensive research conducted with our client.
